Divorce Mediation

The single best reason to engage in divorce mediation is that the future will be in your own hands, rather than leaving it up to a judge. You and your spouse know your situation better than anyone else. Mediation will help you determine the outcome on your terms.

Mediation helps the divorce process end sooner, and with much less distress and anxiety. Contrasting with litigation, mediation can normally proceed at your pace, especially if you begin the mediation process before either you or your spouse files a divorce action in the court.

You can choose mediation either with or without your own attorney. Mediation without your own attorney – just you, your spouse, and a mediator – can be especially efficient and cost-effective, since you and your spouse will likely divide the mediator’s fees. And even if you hire your own attorney, divorce mediation can significantly reduce the time, expense and anxiety inherent in the divorce process.

Finally, although a mediator does not have to be an attorney, most divorce mediatiors in New Jersey are, in fact, attorneys. I have been mediating divorce and other domestic matters in New Jersey for almost two decades, and I am recognized in New Jersey to be a court-appointed divorce mediator. I also volunteer my time to help other attorneys settle divorce matters with their clients in a process called “Early Settlement Program.” Let me help you with your divorce mediation needs. It is far better than costly and and distressing litigation.
